@TheLightAndTheWay Well good for her, that takes a lot of guts, one thing that has been nice having been raised a Mormon myself, is that wonderful feeling of finally being free of that mental bondage and constant feelings of fear invoked by religion. All designed to keep your amygdalia in a constant state of fear, as the fear mongers know you can only be controlled from this reptilian brain state, hence the reason the churches and the media constantly have the need to keep us in fear. .
@patssoxity
You were at La Trobe Uni library at 3am? Don’t think so. I always know where to find you.
@MyITRcom Yeah. Forget all the REAL problems in the world, like drugs, starvation and homelessness, abuse and rape! Forget about those issues… it’s the gay people who are the REAL blight before god!
I don’t know if you guys are Anne Rice fans…
Apparently she posted this on her Facebook today. (I guess the sentiment’s going around!!!):
:”I quit being a Christian. I’m out. In the name of Christ, I refuse to be anti-gay. I refuse to be anti-feminist. I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control. I refuse to be anti-Democrat. I refuse to be anti-secular humanism. I refuse to be anti-science. I refuse to be anti-life. In the name of …Christ, I quit Christianity and being Christian. Amen.”
And, what is really sad is that any point they might make about those who suffer from emotional dysfunction over being gay, is directly caused by those who preach hatred towards us, to the point of feeling so bad about ourselves that some of us can’t handle this, take our own lives or engage in very destructive lifestyles at the expense of the tax payer, what a huge waste and all of it created by the irrationality of religion and the bible. All of this would disappear without this propaganda.
@MyITRcom Very revealing, it just shows you how irrational their hatred towards gays truly is, that they would deny the homeless help, Cancer research for children and helping people with drug problems. Instead focus it on the new scapegoat, the Gay, yeah we are such a threat to society.. LOL.. Yeah, decorating our houses and keeping immaculate yards, spending money and helping the economy, creating great values for society, to only be ridiculed without any rational basis. Really sad indeed
Patsy has a really difficult time seeing how his own philosophy is in contradiction with what we already know about reality. When these kinds of contradictions are pointed out, notice how he completely evades them and will NEVER address his own philosophical flaws. For a philosophy to be accurate, it must not have any contradictions with itself and especially with what we know scientifically about reality. A philosophy that supports oppression and slavery, we know it’s fundamentally flawed.
@MyITRcom Exactly, millions of dollars are being wasted in stupid oppositions and propositions. When there are millions of people out there, losing their lives because of drugs. And being a drug addict, unlike being gay is a choice. How about using those millions to stop addictions, to get information, to support drug addicts who need help to leave drugs and improve their lives. But gays are sinners and it is an abomination!!!! hahahahaha. Hating is an abomination, for sure!
@34roberees No instead they waste millions of dollars fighting against hard working members of society who would only like to be accepted and acknowledge for the values we indeed are bringing to humanity. Visit FamousandGay(dot)com to see the Amazing list of those who have brought amazing values and entertainment to society, yet are still being denied equality and equal treatment under the law in violation of the 14th amendment of the US Constitution.
The Christian Reich is truly working hard to redefine the Term Marriage, instead of Love, commitment, making promises and keeping them. Loyalty and Love, they are seeking the redefine marriage to a brand new meaning… DISCRIMINATION, and if they succeed they will fail as young people will want nothing to do with this term, when marriage equals discrimination what do we gain for society? When people do their homework and discover that being gay is indeed hardwired and not contagious.
@MyITRcom Yeah, no kidding about Pats. It’s sad how he goes on like “the christian nation america stands against you unanimously”, and yet I can log on to a hundred youtube channels supporting gay marriage, and the support for gay rights seriously overwhelms those speaking out against it.
I tried to get pats to check it out, and confirm what I say for himself, but he’s too afraid to grow up.
My only crime is loving.
My only crime is staying loyal to my partner for 9+ years now.
My only crime is being true to my nature.
My only crime is that I didn’t fake reality and marry someone I am completely unattracted to.
My only crime is that I kept to myself, built businesses and created inventions that are a huge value to humanity and society.
But an Atheist, Axe Murderer, a Trailer park crack whore all enjoy previleges that I am denied by society for my “Crimes”
@ElSeedyMinotaur “Christians are experts at evading reality, using confirmation bias to the full extreme to support their perversion of reality.” Fortunately many are taking classes in Critical thinking, listening to the Atheist Experience pod cast, so they can learn and understand precisely where the flaws are in religious thinking. It takes effort to study and know these things, religion is for the lazy minded, it is effortless and requires no hard critical thought, as we both know.
@Cindercheth Pats is still convinced that we are Mob rule by his “True Christian” Church. Not a secular republic that respects the individual and his liberty, pursuit of happiness above mob rule. So he fails and fails again, we are not in any way shape or form a religious theocracy, that is what separates us from Islam and other Theocratic nations, and also the very reason we have become the greatest Nation in the world, but notice the more religion gets involved in our Government we decline
By your logic Pats, Atheism is also a sin, but Atheists are allowed to get married in this Country, if your entire basis is that it is a sin. So Fail again!
@34roberees But! If they allow gay marriage, nazis will once again ride on dinosaurs!
(Drawn Together reference – for anyone who likes crude and offensive humor, and LOTS of christian bashing, I recommend it
– they make fun of EVERYTHING – including their own show!)
But seriously – thumbs up to you.
How about ending drug addicts, that really affects families and the society in general. How about leaving the gay community alone and respect its rights and fight for real and productive causes like ending drugs in a country in which I think there are more drug addicts than gays, drug addiction has nothing to do with gender or sexual orientation. It really affects everyone, so I would tell those bigots and fundamentalists, use your common sense.
@TheLightAndTheWay Exactly my point!
It’s too bad that passtoxity will likely look past that to focus on how sinful being gay is, because it makes him go “ewwww!”
“Screw reason, I don’t like it… so therefor it’s a sin!” (I still bet he’s a closet case).
@ElseedyMinotaur That is true. I suppose there may be ethical situations in which to lie (if you were harboring jewish people, and had hitler’s men questioning you, as an example).
@TheLightAndTheWay Most people would define lying as a sin.
Pats has the right to lie, however.
That’s guaranteed by our Constitution.
Rights have almost nothing to do with sin.
@Cindercheth
LOL. And what does someone else’s definition of sin have to do with my rights? Plenty of Catholic priests would define Patsy’s marriage to a previously married woman as a sin. I wonder how Pats would feel if there were a push by people to make his marriage illegal because they thought it was a sin!!
For america: this is a civil rights and equality issue, and not a “sin issue”.
For America, we’re supposed to be looking at whether or not any CRIMES are being committed. Not at whether or not you people have a cob up your butt at who WE choose to love, Pats.
So preach about what’s sinful to people who might buy into your definition of it, because even many christians don’t believe your definition of what sin means.
@patssoxity
Actually, polls show that Americans are close to evenly divided on this issue.
And here’s that “true Christians” term again…. With the definition of “true” being once again–let me guess–hating the gay.
And even evangelicals are not monolithic or unanimous in their opposition, with younger evangelicals being even more split. A recent poll out of Calif showed, surprisingly, that a majority of Catholics–esp Latino Catholics–are supportive of ssm rights.
the gay community does, because you’re showing intolerance and discrimination and prejudice. To me, that’s more wrongful and shameful then being gay, and being honest enough to just be yourself.
@patssoxity “For true Christians, this isn’t a civil rights issue. It’s a sin issue”
Freedom of religion: we have the right to believe in Buddhism, if we want to. WE have the right to believe that you trying to segregate gay people is the true evil, and completely forget what YOU claim to be “sin”. the heck sin. You keep your sin to yourself. I choose to believe in what’s right and what’s wrong, and use THOSE moral edicts to base my view of another person!
To ME, you’ve been more sinful then
